Odyssey Shankle Bus & Truck Repair is hiring a Truck & Bus Diesel Technician to service a mixed commercial fleet, including school and transit buses, Class 7–8 trucks, and specialized commercial vehicles. This independent technician role offers $35–$45 per hour based on experience, health benefits, performance bonuses, and paid time off. The shop operates with digital work orders, faster parts access, fleet management platforms, tablet-based work-order systems, and OEM diagnostic software, with opportunities to progress into lead technician responsibilities or a diagnostic specialist track.

Responsibilities

• Perform diesel diagnostics on trucks, buses, and specialized commercial vehicles.
• Repair and service diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Troubleshoot heavy-duty vehicle systems and identify repair requirements.
• Complete electronic work orders using laptops and tablets.
• Use fleet management platforms and OEM diagnostic software.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and follow shop safety practices.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Own required tools.
• Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking fluently.
• Comfort using laptops and tablets for daily work orders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 or more years of truck and bus diesel repair experience.
• Diesel technology training.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
• Experience with diesel engine diagnostics and heavy-duty vehicle repair.
• Knowledge of brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with electronic work orders and troubleshooting.
• Strong English communication skills.
